About Us

Vision and Mission

'Exploring faith, nurturing community' is our mission

Life at Epping Uniting Church includes:

  1. Creating a nurturing community where people can explore faith with a theologically open local presence
  2. Serving community members and welcoming new arrivals in Epping and beyond
  3. Caring for our Elders and building up the younger generations; supporting people to grow into future leaders
  4. Celebrating all church members, regardless of age, race, gender, sexuality, and ability
  5. Sunday morning church services which are a time of peace, worship, music, sharing food, and friendship
  6. Events, activities and groups during the week, and spaces available for individual and group bookings

Simply stated, we’re all on a journey. Our church is made up of some people who have been followers of Jesus for a short time and those who have been life-long followers. Want to know the best part? It’s a place which celebrates God’s love for all people – no matter what.

A Safe Place to Explore Your Faith
Epping Uniting Church is a theologically open church. We believe that God is active in the world through people who follow the way of Jesus, sharing our tears and laughter, reaching out to people through people. We encourage theological enquiry and discussion, believing that our faith and knowledge are important for informed opinion, and a creative diversity of political and social views.

Our History

Established in 1977, the Uniting Church in Australia brought together people from the Presbyterian Church, the Methodist Church and the Congregational Union. It is a truly Australian, contemporary Christian church. The Uniting Church stands with the people of this and other lands in their search for spiritual life, justice, identity and dignity. Its call is to be a fellowship of reconciliation, a body within which the diverse gifts of its members are used for the building up of the whole, and an instrument through which Christ may work and bear witness to. The church confidently believes that through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God brings us into right relationship with God.

The Uniting Church strives to be an inclusive community of different views, cultures and expressions of faith. As one of the largest non-government providers of community services in all parts of Australia, it is committed to reflecting the love and grace of God in caring for people, in advocating for those with special needs and for the equitable and appropriate provision of social services.
