Vision & Mission

Our Vision

We envision an inclusive and theologically open community where God’s love is lived out through the way of Jesus—embracing diversity, practising justice, and engaging the world with compassion and hope.

Our Mission

Exploring faith, nurturing community

Life at Epping Uniting Church is shaped by this mission. We seek to live it out by:

  • Creating a nurturing community where people can explore faith with honesty, curiosity, and a theologically open local presence

  • Serving community members and welcoming new arrivals in Epping and beyond

  • Caring for our Elders while building up younger generations and supporting people to grow into future leaders

  • Celebrating every member of our community, regardless of age, race, gender, sexuality, or ability

  • Gathering for Sunday worship as a time of peace, prayer, music, shared food, and friendship

  • Offering events, activities, groups, and spaces throughout the week for individuals and community use

A Safe Place to Explore Faith

We are a welcoming church. We believe that God is active in the world through people who follow the way of Jesus—sharing in one another’s tears and laughter, and reaching out to people through relationships of care and trust. We encourage theological enquiry, thoughtful discussion, and respectful dialogue, believing that faith and knowledge belong together. We value informed reflection and welcome a creative diversity of political and social perspectives within a spirit of grace.

Simply stated, we are all on a journey. Our church is made up of people who are exploring faith, those who are new to following Jesus, and those who have been walking this path for a lifetime. What binds us together is this: we are a community that celebrates God’s love for all people—no matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey.

You are warmly invited to be part of Epping Uniting Church.
